Salesforce Buys Agentic Search Company Doti, Its Eighth Acquisition This Year

Salesforce has signed a definitive agreement to acquire agentic enterprise search company Doti. The acquisition is centered around bringing the global talent of Doti to Salesforce, as well as strengthening the CRM giant’s AI Research & Development hub in Israel. 

The final transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of Salesforce’s fiscal year 2026, subject to customary closing conditions. Salesforce is expected to use the acquisition to improve enterprise search across Salesforce and boost Slack capabilities. 

What Is Doti? 

Doti pioneers itself as a “do-it-yourself AI platform” that searches a team’s tools and builds agents for daily workflows. 

With a focus on providing streamlined access to reliable data, it currently has customers such as Orca Security, Similarweb, and Bringg. 

What Does This Acquisition Mean? 

According to Salesforce, this collaborative effort will help to accelerate the development of unified, agentic search and knowledge discovery for customers. In terms of Doti’s expertise, it will allow Salesforce to expand on its enterprise search foundation. Unification – something integral to the Agentforce experience as a whole – will be a key advancement point. 

Slack will be the “conversational interface” for this development, allowing Salesforce to further support its mission of a human/agent alliance. 

Denise Dresser, the CEO of Slack, said this acquisition will fast-track Salesforce’s vision to reinvent enterprise search across Salesforce. 

“Together, we’re transforming how every employee finds, understands, and acts on information, through the power of AI and most importantly the conversational context that lives in Slack,” she said. 

Summary 

This acquisition of Doti is Salesforce’s eighth acquisition announced this year, following the purchase of Spindle AI last week. 

Once again, all signs point towards Salesforce expanding and developing its agentic platform, and this acquisition is a testament to that. By this time next year, Agentforce is likely to be worlds away in terms of development – we’ll soon see how these acquisitions play into that.
