OpenAI Is Now Hiring for Its AGI Mission: Could You Be the Right Fit?

OpenAI is gearing up for its pursuit of artificial general intelligence (AGI) and is currently hiring in its Revenue Operations team as part of that mission.

One particular role – the Quote to Cash Systems Engineer – will focus on a mixture of CPQ and order to cash (OTC) functionality to help bring OpenAI’s current and future suite of products to the market.

What Is This Position?

The Quote to Cash Systems Engineer position will sit in the Revenue Operations team and is made up of Sales, Solutions, Customer Success, Support, Marketing, and Partnership professionals. The team is responsible for equipping and enabling the Go To Market (GTM), helping customers get the most out of the tools.

OpenAI describes this as a “builder role” with a strong emphasis on execution. The successful candidate will be responsible for transforming defined technical requirements (such as new order-capture objects, fulfillment triggers, tax and billing integrations, and SKU and entitlement governance) into thoroughly tested, production-ready Salesforce configurations and custom code.

Interestingly, a big part of the role is building custom order-to-cash solutions in Salesforce, as well as connecting Salesforce to ERP, tax engines, billing platforms, CLM, and e-signature tools. Thus, if you have experience working with Salesforce CPQ or Revenue Cloud in any capacity, this may be a position that you could be well-suited for.

What Is AGI?

OpenAI seems to have shifted its focus to the creation of a “safe artificial general intelligence (AGI) which benefits all of humanity”.

AGI refers to a “level of artificial intelligence that matches human intelligence in understanding, learning, and problem-solving.” Think of it as the ultimate AI – a version of AI that thinks for itself, performs rather than automates, and all with a keen sense of adaptability.

Although it is considered by some to be potentially destructive, AGI is the endgame for many big players in the tech industry when it comes to artificial intelligence. OpenAI claims to be dedicating itself to the safe development of AGI – the harnessing of a technology that could not only provide teams of AI agents with human-grade intelligence, but also transform workflows, strategy processes, and more.

Why Is This a Big Deal?

OpenAI is one of the fastest-growing AI organizations in the market at present, with a reportedly estimated 700 million weekly users as of mid-2025. Not only that, but it is now admittedly on the road to being the creator of the world’s AGI – a technology that will likely rival almost every other technological innovation in history.

Plus, this particular role signifies that QTC and OTC processes are still very much in demand, even while AI automates processes left and right in the background. So if you’ve been looking to get stuck into all things Revenue Cloud Advanced, then let this be your official nudge.
