Bullhorn Bolsters Salesforce Offering with TargetRecruit Buyout


Bullhorn, a recruitment software builder, has recently announced the acquisition of Houston-based TargetRecruit, which offers front- and middle-office solutions on Salesforce platforms.

The acquisition will enable Bullhorn to grow its Salesforce user base to 150,000 people and bolster its presence in the healthcare staffing market.

Why Is This Acquisition Important?

As Bullhorn detailed in their press release, “Building a great independent software vendor (ISV) business on the Salesforce platform in the recruitment industry is incredibly hard.” This can be due to several reasons – one being that it can often be an expensive area to pursue.

This means that it has very little presence on the AppExchange, with most listings being niche products and tools (resume parsing, candidate texting), and very few cover both front and middle office. 

By joining forces with TargetRecruit, Bullhorn now holds dominance in this particular space and successfully covers both bases. 

All in all, it’s a big win for both parties, with existing TargetRecruit customers now having full access to Bullhorn’s larger R&D team, product maturity, and implementation expertise, especially in middle-office automation.

Bullhorn also mentioned that this gives them the platform to scale what they’re doing with their Salesforce-native offerings, especially Bullhorn Amplify and Agentforce.

Instead of selling Amplify and Agentforce into net-new accounts, Bullhorn can now introduce it to an entire group of existing, pre-qualified customers (TargetRecruit’s base) who are already using Salesforce but may lack AI capabilities.

Many TargetRecruit customers may eventually upgrade to Bullhorn’s more powerful Recruitment Cloud offering, and when they do, they’ll be primed for all the Agentforce-powered automation.

Final Thoughts

This latest acquisition gives Bullhorn a much stronger foothold in the Salesforce ecosystem and brings a wave of new, ready-to-upgrade customers into its AI-powered platform. 

TargetRecruit’s strength in healthcare staffing – a fairly complex market – pairs perfectly with Bullhorn’s deeper tech stack and automation tools like Agentforce.
